Tom Cruise plays an Army PR officer who gets killed during an ill-fated mission against invading aliens. He wakes up back before the battle and discovers he’s in a time loop, repeating the last few hours, each time getting better and closer to winning. Toss in a tough soldier (Emily Blunt), who understands his situation and provides the inevitable love interest. As action films go, this has some solid sequences and the enemy is OK. If you can ignore some glaring holes in the logic, you might find it an interesting and moderately skillful entertainment.
