Ancient History
Do you even remember Sony Porta-Packs? They were bulky 1/2” reel-to-reel decks with thick umbilical cords running to a black and white camera. I first played with one as a sophomore in Theatre at RPI (now known as Virginia Commonwealth University). A few years later (October, 1972) I became video training director for Heilig-Meyers Furniture Company. After several hundred training and informational videos, it was on to Richmond Public Schools, where I honed my skills for young audiences.
NEVER SAY “FREE”
Since 1988, I’ve been out here on my own, selling my creative talents. (I never say free-lance. I try to avoid that word “free"). Having worked with all of the major production companies in the area, I feel comfortable with the strengths of each. I even allow clients to pay their bills directly, avoiding that expensive markup.
THE POOP ON POOP
Gossip Monger
I’m staying busy with long-form videos (marketing, recruitment, informational), as well as commercials. However, why not take advantage of my reputation as one of the production community’s most voracious gossips? Hence, this website! Every piece of news is tried and tested. It usually includes a link to the company or person who gave it to me.
Now What?
Instead of turning this site into sludge of animation and slow-loading stuff, I opted for snappy and to-the-point data. If you want to see more of my work, contact me below or call. I’ll be glad to get in touch and send you a complete demo (snail mail, of course).
