One of my spies discovered a Richmond indie film producer on craigslist looking for a mate (wonder why my spy was there?).
DP Patrick Gregory was recently named the 2007-2008 VMFA (Virginia Museum) Professional Fellowship for Filmmaking.
Westminster Canterbury is looking for a PA for their in-house, closed circuit channel. HS Diploma or equivalent and 6 months experience (photography skills and Final Cut Pro a plus). Dave Park owns and is now renting the Redrock M2 Cine Lens Adapter with a Nikon mount and a set of Nikon primes and a zoom. Fits all 1/3” chip cameras.

I attended the 15th annual Richmond Broadcasters Hall of Fame banquet last Tuesday night. They honor members of our broadcasting community and this year’s Frank Soden Lifetime Achievement Awards went to longtime radio personality Jim Minor and WTVR News Anchor Cheryl Miller (also one of my co-anchors from my movie reviewing days). This year’s Broadcaster of the Year was “Virginia Currents” host May-Lily Lee (who was also at WTVR in my day). Click here to visit the Photo Gallery.

Normally, I don’t list theater events, but since many onscreen actors come from the stage, I’m listing this inaugural notice. Pretending Trees is a new free monthly event presented by Yellow House (the folks who do Project Resolution). It’s a chance for actors to perform and get feedback from their peers.
