Good news to those of you who just bought an iPad, there’s no Flash running on this site, so you’ll be able to enjoy all of my “Tales.”
The Fox hit “Glee” is holding auditions on 4/10 for a potential part on the show at the SPARC headquarters.
The Final Act Drama Academy is teaching a course in “Improvisation and Character Development.” The 5-week course begins 4/20 and runs on Tuesday (6:30-8:30) at 6511 Belmont Rd. Chesterfield. $250 with $15 registration fee. Call 858-3446 or email.
Helene Wagner is teaching a Screenwriting Course that starts 6/3 and runs for 6 weeks on Thursdays (7 - 9) at Art Works (320 Hull St). $150. Registration Deadline is 5/27. For details email her or call 744-1718.
“Attack of the Vegan Zombies!,” which was shot in Gum Spring, will screen at the Byrd at 2pm, 5/1 with a Q&A session following. $5. You can also buy the DVD on Amazon or from the weibsite.

Just posted descriptions of 2 recent projects: Read about my freezing Nashville NASCAR experience and my first client-shot Flip project”.
She’s probably best known as the wife on Bill Cosby’s TV classic, but she’s done lots of other stuff, which she’ll talk about in a special “Evening with Phylicia Rashad” on 4/22 at the Byrd Theatre. There will be a VIP reception at 6:30 ($50) and the forum at 7:30 ($25, $10 students). Proceeds will support the Legacy Media Institute and you can get tix on their site or at the Byrd.

Richmond faired pretty well in the Radio Television Digital News Assn’s Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards. (Thanks to Dixon Johnston from WRIC TV-8 for the heads up.)
There will be casting for a VCU student film on 4/13, 9pm in Room 305 of the Pollack Building (325 N. Harrison St). They’re seeking men and women in this look at speed dating. Contact Tommy Bell for details.

Songwire Studios has moved to a new studio on 11 S. 21st Street. In addition to their music composition, they now offer audio post production and VO recording.
CASTING VA has opened an extension of the Newport News office in Short Pump at 3900 Westerre Parkway. They’ll be holding an open call for new faces to keep on file for future projects (ages 2 and up, union and non-union) today 4/26, 1-4. Bring headshots/resume.
Several weekends ago, Capital One editor George Louden and some friends shot a spec spot for a contest on Go Daddy.com. You can view the spot and vote for them.
CBS 6 News won a Meritorious Award for Outstanding News Operation of the Year from the Associated Press. Their Sports Department won 2 distinctions and a news story received the Associated Press’ Douglas Southall Award for Public Service. Mark Holmberg also collected a Superior Award for Best Documentary or In Depth Reporting.
WRIC Creative Services’ CVWMA “Trash Talkers” campaign won the “Virginia Recycling Association Spotlight Award"-2010 Green Carpet Winner.
