A SQUARE DEAL
Hall & Partners Advertising created a slogan for Petersburg Motors that emphasized their “square deal” approach to selling cars. Dann Hall called on me to bring it to the screen.
Many car spots feature the dealership owner as spokesperson, but we shot him in close up and placed him in one of 9 squares on the screen (think the “Brady Bunch"). The other eight squares were filled the sales staff at work, running footage of the cars or just clean white space.
Add an unusually bright music track and you have an upbeat, graphically unique slant of selling cars.
