ADDING SPARC-LE
SPARC stands for School for Performing Arts in the Richmond Community. It’s celebrating its 25th anniversary and has never had an awareness raising video. As a long-time supporter (they’re a great source of young actors), I agreed to produce it pro bono.
The most vital aspect of their program is the kids, so we used a bunch of them to act as on-camera narrators. It’s also important to show the school in action, so we shot kids from 6 to 16 singing, dancing and acting (Dave Park on camera and Jeff McGall on sound). After interviewing a few parents we were ready for post.
Since their logo is a star, it became in inevitable design element: framing the narrators and transitioning between scenes (with added glitzy effect from Boris Continuum). The result is a quick, bright and fun video that’s been getting standing ovations.
