FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Since I’ve worked with VITA (Virginia Information Technology Agency) on several previous WIC (Women Infants Children) projects, they called me when it was time for the latest…and biggest yet.

Every parent who enters the program goes through orientation and they needed a video to assure a consistent message. To help the audience relate, the structure had parents asking questions and video/voiceover providing the answers.

The twist? We needed the entire project in Spanish! This meant casting the “moms” twice: once with English-speaking actors and once for Spanish. Three days of shooting included two houses, the Tax Department’s old facility as a clinic and a grocery store.

VITA’s Charlie Reilly shot and produced. Dave Swain of Park Group created the attractive graphics and Jody Boyd of Far West Audio provided music and mix. The finished product is a bi-lingual DVD with chapters and lots of yummy information.
