HEADS IN THE CLOUDS
Shooting scores of interviews can be challenging, especially when they’re all on the same set. When Wachovia Securities rolled out a new product for its Financial Advisors, they relied on their relationship with me and Park Group to produce the video.
We needed a unique environment for the interviews. Turns out that the studios of Channel 23 (where we were shooting) had some spare flats lying against a wall. They were painted with blue sky and clouds. As soon as I saw them, I had our theme and a visual hook.
We shot the interviews with two cameras to make editing seamless…each camera featured a different angle.
Additional staged footage of FAs and customers was shot in a rental office. Park’s designer Dave Swain incorporated the cloud design in his animation (see frame above) and the whole package was a dreamy, fast-moving promotional piece.
