Generally, I write, direct and edit my projects. But for this Genworth video their associates did the shooting and Julie Quarles asked me to make them look good.
This was the opener for their all associates meeting and the objective was to get the audience pumped. The client assigned their offices around the country to shoot stills or video and we got everything: from a few stills to fully-produced comedy sketches.
I went to work, blending the slow stuff with upbeat tunes and cutting the skits to their core gags. I even created a “bonus” outtakes sequence to close out the meeting. The client approved both videos virtually unchanged and the audience went wild!
Even when I have no control over the footage, I can still make it “sing.”
