IT’S ALIVE!

IT’S ALIVE!

The Science Museum of Virginia has been staging live theater for several years, but “Frankenstein Lives!” was the first play that got broadcast on TV.

The Community Idea Stations (aka Channel 23) was hired by the Museum’s Barry Hayes to shoot the show. When their staff guy wasn’t available, I got the call (thanks to Dave DeBarger for taking a vacation). We shot a live performance with four cameras running to isolated D-Beta decks.

My recently-acquired Avid Express Pro Mojo came in handy to edit the show. The “group edit” feature allows easy switching between cameras. The master went to Park Group where Alfred Walker sweetened the audio before broadcast.
