MAKING BLOOD PRETTY
Instructional videos can be deadly, which is why the Virginia Department of Health called me to spice up their latest: a review for health clinics on how to take blood samples and test the results. I worked with Charlie Reilly from DIT, who shot and cut the project.
Since the process is basic to the point of boredom, I dressed up the video to make it more appealing. We used a “technician” (Bea Bush) in front of a layered image to provide general information. We also cast four kids to highlight important point. The graphics were keyed over an attractive blend of movement, color and animated blood cells.
The result: an attractive, interesting and fast-moving video.
