SETTING IT UP RIGHT (and left)
After the success of last year’s Annual Report video for Media General (link here), Liz Cleal challenged me to create something even better this year. The two-camera approach made it easy for everybody to look good, so we kept that approach.
Last year we interviewed each executive in a different setting. This year, we decided to unify the look. The designer who created the title animation sent us some still frames. Media General’s staff video guy John Attenberry blew them up for the wide shot background. We used the room’s giant projection screen for the close-up angle. It took DP Dave Park about an hour to match the color temps from a projected image and a front-lit set.
The final result was a great looking video that had complete visual continuity and smooth interviews.
