SLOWING DOWN KIDS
Punch was working with Matt Brady at the Children’s Hospital Foundation to produce a video. Just a month before I got the call from Punch, I was a judge for the Foundation’s “Dancing with the Stars” event. What a surprise for Matt when I showed up for the scout!
They wanted to highlight patients and their caregivers at the Brook Road and VCU hospitals. Since children move quickly, I decided to overcrank the video in Dave Park’s new AF100 camera. This creates slow motion footage, which allowed me to extend those special seconds in editing. The camera also allows for shallow depth of field, which softens the background.
After working with Matt on the final cut, Punch created the graphics animation that helped tell the story.
